Beethoven composed this cheerful-ironic piece in 1790 during his student years in Bonn and performed it in spring 1791, perhaps as a contribution to the carnival season. The special "thin" instrumentation was extended to a classical measure. Through a new key and other details, an arrangement has been created that is also suitable for an orchestra in composition and offers a lot of playful pleasure.

Four main lyrical themes define this movement, which concludes with a scherzando-like section. This wonderful symphony movement is one of Beethoven's most popular.
A changed time signature (3/4 instead of 3/8), the new key (G major instead of A major) and slight changes in instrumentation and setting make it playable for your orchestra.

Handel's famous Sarabande from the harpsichord suite D minor (HWV) 437 in a version for youth orchestra. The original parts (theme, Variation 1 and 2) were supplemented by four further variations. This gives the piece a larger size, which achieves an enhanced effect within a concert. The original repetitions of the individual parts have been omitted and can be played along if required.

Elgar completed the work in July 1888, when he became engaged to Caroline Alice Roberts. He called it in German "Liebesgruß", since Miss Roberts spoke German fluently. The piece was his own personal engagement gift.

Primordially composed for violin and piano, this version is based on Elgar's original instrumentation. A new key and slight changes in instrumentation and setting make this delightful piece playable for your orchestra.         .

A slow, ostinate striding movement of quarters and eighths determines this movement. Gradually a solemn vocal theme rises, which goes through the different sound registers in a tremendous increase. A lyrical central theme and an impressive double fugue break through this process.
Beginning and end form a harsh C minor chord in the wind instruments.

Vivaldi's well-known "Beginner's Concerto" for violin from the collection "L'estro armonico" (op.3,3, G major) in a version for viola or cello and string orchestra. The work was transposed a fifth down to C major, so that the fingering of the solo part corresponds exactly to that of the violin. The orchestral part has been adapted accordingly. An attractive task for young viola students!

The solo part with simple piano accompaniment is included for practice.

The work was transposed a fifth down to D minor, so that the fingering of the solo part corresponds exactly to that of the violin. The orchestral part has been adapted accordingly. An attractive task for young viola students!

The work was transposed a fifth down to D minor, so that the solo parts correspond exactly to the violin model in terms of the fingering. Also playable in combination (Vla1 & Vc2). The orchestral part has been adapted accordingly. An effective piece for advanced viola players!
